Contraindications:
- Avoid or use cautiously in patients with hypersensitivity to any of the vitamins or formulation components, those with severe hepatic or renal impairment, individuals with hypervitaminosis such as excess intake of vitamins B6 or B12 from other supplements, those with allergy to cobalt or cobalamin compounds (rare), and patients on levodopa alone, since vitamin B6 interferes with its effect.
Side Effects:
- Usually well-tolerated, but some may experience: Mild nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea. Headache or dizziness (rare). Allergic rash or itching (very rare). Yellow urine discoloration — harmless effect of excess riboflavin (B2).
Precautions:
- Take after meals to reduce gastric irritation. Avoid combining with other multivitamins (risk of over-supplementation). Pregnancy/Lactation: Safe when used as prescribed. Chronic disease (diabetes, renal, or liver conditions): Use under medical advice. Do not exceed recommended dose — water-soluble vitamins are safe but high doses over time may strain the liver.
Dietary Restrictions:
- Maintain a balanced diet rich in natural B-vitamins (eggs, milk, leafy greens, whole grains, pulses, fish). Avoid alcohol — it interferes with vitamin B absorption and worsens deficiency. Avoid taking antacids or high-dose calcium/iron supplements at the same time — may reduce absorption (space by 2 hours). Stay hydrated — water-soluble vitamins are excreted in urine.
